Chelsea put an impressive end to their run of games without a win in an excellent away performance at the KCOM Stadium against the Tigers.
Diego Costa and Willian’s wonderful curling shots proved the difference but Chelsea’s confidence against Hull City was built on a much-improved defensive display as Antonio Conte turned to a back three for the first time this season.
Conte had made no secret of the fact that he was planning to implement the system at some stage but the abysmal first half against Arsenal forced him to speed up his plans.
David Luiz and Gary Cahill looked far more assured with the extra help of Cesar Azpilicueta, while Marcos Alonso put in a masterful performance at left wing-back and Victor Moses continued his resurgence on the opposite flank.
